WELCOME TO MODERN ARNIS 3.0
Thanks for visiting our brand new website: Modern Arnis International. This is MARPPIO's very latest version of the Internet's #1 destination for the topic of Modern Arnis Filipino martial arts. We are very proud of this site and would like to call your attention to several new features:- Forum -- created by Kunena, this forum allows video and picture postings that appear inline. You can totally post all of your media here and it will show up immediately as opposed to just the link showing up. Makes for a nicer, presentation
- Social Networking -- created by JomSocial; allows all our members to connect with one another in a Facebook style application. You can keep track of each other in real-time, post pics, videos, create your own blog and chat (coming SOON)! We hope that this will create a more lively community for MARPPIO and the martial arts in general.
- Expanded content for MARPPIO and the Presas family history -- the family has directed this site to include a much more information including new articles, new pictures and new methodology. This is keeping with the desire by the family to expand the possibilities of their family art and is a way for people to learn the beauty of the Filipino culture.
If you are a returning member, please note a couple of new changes to your membership:
- You MUST have an Icon associated with your username: simply load your own individual icon to your member profile.
- You MUST fill out the profile information associated with your account: leave a couple of sentences about yourself in the 'About Us' section. It doesn't have to be too long or detailed but should give some sense about you or your reasons for being on the site.
Other than that, please feel free to hang out on this site as long as you like and come back as often as you want. Go ahead and ask questions or bring up issues that you would like this site to address. Ultimately, it is OUR MEMBERSHIP that allows us to expand the possibilities of this site and ultimately of our beautiful Filipino culture.

MARPPIO is announcing the availability of Dr. Remy Presas Jr. for seminars/workshops in advanced techniques of Modern Arnis for Fall 2009. It is not too early to book Dr. Presas to appear at your school or martial arts event to show the latest in advanced self-defense techniques in Modern Arnis -- his family Filipino martial art. Dr. Presas continues to expand the frontier of Modern Arnis by developing new and relevant techniques that reflect the diversity of Filipino martial arts and which responds to the 21st century and the complexities this brings to our daily lives. Additionally, Dr. Presas is the eldest son of the late Grandmaster Remy A. Presas and continues the work began by his father, the creator of Modern Arnis. He, alone, along with his family, understand fully, the entire breadth, scope, history and sophistication of Filipino martial arts as it relates to Modern Arnis. A seminar at your school would give you and your students the unique opportunity to experience the best of Filipino martial art and culture.
